An international Conference to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Minzu University of China

Event description
This two-day international conference, due to take place online and face-to-face, celebrates the 80thanniversary of Minzu University of China, a key comprehensive Chinese university, based in Beijing (https://oir.muc.edu.cn/en/index.htm). Its specificity is to focus on research and education about Chinese Minzu ‘ethnic’ groups.
The aim of the conference is to share and discuss research perspectives on educational developments, global problems and issues in the tertiary sector (colleges, polytechnics, universities (of applied sciences), amongst others). Overview papers, comparative studies, and analyses of particular issues can be submitted around the following topics:
1. Diversity in Higher Education (H.E.)
Topics include but are not limited to: access to higher education, affirmative action, diversity training, equality-equity, Ethnic-Group Serving Institutions in H.E., identity construction, Minzu H.E, Sustainable Development Goals and H.E.
2. Learning-teaching in H.E.
Topics include but are not limited to: academic writing, assessment, creativity, educational success, entrepreneurship, flipped lectures, group work, interdisciplinarity, motivation, University pedagogy
3. Being a scholar
Topics include but are not limited to: academic career paths, doing research, employability, evaluation systems, global/local collaborations, professional development, publishing, ranking, supervising, ties with industry
4. The use of digital technologies in H.E.
Topics include but are not limited to: Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital disruption in times of crises, Educational Robotics, effect on student engagement, gamification, MOOCs, online (self-/peer-) assessment, telework, Virtual Exchange
5. Well-being in H.E.
Topics include but are not limited to: adaptation, graduate employability, mental health issues, mental health resources, pastoral care, resilience, stress
6. Internationalization of H.E.
Topics include but are not limited to: global ambitions/local needs, intercultural and global competencies, intercultural relationship development, international mobility by career stage, international student and staff recruitment, internationalization at home, migration, multilingualism, research collaboration, student adjustment and adaptation.
Conference format
The first half-day is based on invited keynote speeches of internationally well-known scholars who share their research about the six topics.
The second day is based on selected papers on any of the aforementioned topics.
Speakers not located in China will have the possibility to present online.
The conference is free of charge.
1st day (afternoon, Beijing time)
2nd day (whole day, Beijing time).
Call For papers (CFP)
Papers will be selected for the second day of the conference. Speakers not located in China will have the possibility to present online. Each paper should last 20 minutes plus 10 minutes for questions. Please send a 100-150 word abstract along with a 30-word biodata and contacts to muc_conference2021@163.com by 1st September 2021.
A special issue or volume published internationally will follow the conference.
